WELCOME TO OCEAN VIEW SCHOOL!

Please let me extend my personal WELCOME to you and your family. You are joining a community that takes great pride in our school, educational excellence, and multicultural diversity. It is most appropriate that the Ocean View School's mascot is the sea otter. The sea otter lives in an ocean, rich with many different life forms, and works in harmony with the ocean. As a teaching staff, we are committed to bringing this same philosophy to our school. We honor our community through the diversity our students bring to our "ocean".

We, at Ocean View School, believe you are sending your student to one of the finest schools in the entire bay area. The strength of Ocean View lies with its highly qualified teaching staff who believes that all children can learn. Teachers at Ocean View School are knowledgeable, resourceful and share in a commitment to the education of our diverse student population. Both teachers and staff at Ocean View School work diligently to create a welcoming and safe environment. Our goals are based in the fundamental commitment to offer students a comprehensive educational experience. We also understand that the education we offer must assure that all students are treated with dignity, respect and high expectations.

A comprehensive educational program at Ocean View School strives to meet the needs of our diverse community through a collaborative approach. With a student population of over 580 students, approximately half have a home language other than English. Every classroom is comprised of several cultures and languages. Our educational progam is based on the strength of a caring classroom, combined with the rich experiences offered through field trips and performing arts. We have a strong school spirit nurtured in the classroom as well through the games and activities offered to students at lunchtime. By providing an intellectual, social and emotionally rich experience for students, we are proud of our school and our educational pursuits and achievements.
