Dear Oceanview Families,
We hope your family is settling into a wonderful new school year! As we kick off another exciting year at Oceanview, we're already looking ahead to one of our favorite community traditions.
Our annual Fall Festival & Walkathon is happening on Saturday, October 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and we're looking for volunteers to help make this year's event a success!
The Fall Festival & Walkathon is one of Oceanview's favorite traditions and our largest fundraiser of the year. It brings our school community together while raising funds that support programs for every Oceanview student. Every volunteer hour helps fund the programs and experiences that make Oceanview special—from field trips and family events to classroom enrichment and teacher appreciation.
There are lots of ways to help!
We'll need volunteers on Friday evening, October 2 to help set up for the festival, as well as volunteers on Saturday, October 3 for morning setup, games, activities, concessions, the walkathon, the prize booth, cleanup, and more. Most volunteer shifts are just 1–2 hours, so it's easy to find a time that fits your schedule. Whether you can help Friday evening, Saturday morning, midday, afternoon, or cleanup, we'd love to have you!

Interested in a Leadership Role?
We're also looking for Area Leads to help oversee one part of the festival during a single shift. Two Area Leads will be assigned to each area—one for the first half of the event and one for the second—so there's no need to commit to the entire day. Area Lead opportunities include Ticket Sales & Sign-In, Walkathon, Games, Activities, Concessions, and Prize Booth. Area Leads don't plan the event—they simply help keep their area running smoothly during their shift. The PTA and event coordinators will provide all instructions, supplies, and support. If you're interested in serving as an Area Lead, simply indicate your interest on the volunteer sign-up or contact us directly. We'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone interested in an Area Lead role as soon as possible.
Thank you for helping make Oceanview such an amazing community. We can't wait to celebrate with you on October 3!
Warmly,
The Oceanview PTA Fall Festival Committee

This park is being utilized by the aftercare program. There is an Ocean View Public Park located behind the baseball field/tennis courts outside of the school campus.
Entrance Gates
South Front Gate (TK/Kinder): will be open from 8:00-8:30am.
Central Gate (1st-5th): will be open from 8:15-8:30am.
School starts at: 8:30am. Tardy slips start at 8:31am.
If your student comes in after this time, stop by the office for a late pass. If your student goes straight to the classroom, they will be sent down to the office.
Illnesses
If a student has been absent for 10 days due to medical/illness within the school year, we are required to ask for a doctor's note to excuse any medical/illnesses after the 10th day. Any medical/illnesses already excused by a doctor in the first 10 days of absences are not counted toward this requirement. If your student is absent due to fever, they must be 24-hour fever free before returning to school without use of fever-reducing medication. Report all absences to ovattendance@ausdk12.org
Health Forms for Kindergarten Families
Kindergartners need to have the Oral Health Form completed by their doctor/dentist and on file in the school office before the start of first grade.
