Halloween Is This Friday!
Families and friends are welcome to attend Ocean View’s annual Halloween Parade! Kindergarten will have their parade at 9:45am and 1st-5th grade will have their parade at 1:55pm. The parade viewing areas are outside of school grounds in the coned off drop-off lane in front of the school, and in front of the parked cars in the North Staff Lot. The parade will travel along the sidewalk in front of the school. All parent visitors will need to wait outside of the school to view the parade. At the conclusion of the 1st-5th grade parade, and once all grades have returned to their classroom, we will open the gates and for parents to visit their child’s classroom and sign their child out early if they choose.
Ocean View is a diverse school with our students speaking over 30 languages. We pride ourselves in educational excellence and diversity. We have highly qualified teachers who believe all students can learn at high levels. Teachers at Ocean View are knowledgeable, resourceful, and they share in their commitment to honor students’ personal identities.
Our school goals are based on the fundamental commitment to academic growth for all, supporting the whole child, and having regular collaboration and communication with our families.
Our student population is over 550 and about 40% of our students have a home language other than English. In order to meet our students’ needs we have academic support teachers as well as English Language Development teachers. Beyond academic instruction, we provide rich educational experiences with field trips and performing arts. We have strong school spirit and love having parents participate in school activities with volunteer opportunities in classrooms and on the playground during lunchtime.
By providing an intellectual, social, and emotionally rich environment for students, we are proud of our school and our educational pursuits and achievements.
