REMINDER TO FIRST GRADE FAMILIES Please remember to turn in immunization updates, the Health Examination form, and the Oral Health form to the OV Annex Office, as soon as possible. All children entering 1st grade should have a CHDP health exam form and an Oral Health form on file with us.

Dear Ocean View Community,
We’re excited to announce that we will be having school picture days this fall! We and the district have worked with our photography company, Blue Note Photography (the same people as last year, just under a new name), to develop a photography plan that is safe and as simple as possible under our current circumstances. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to briefly visit the school, have a photo session, and have your child/ren be included in this years’ class photo. Class photos will be composites this year and the only way to have your child included is to attend one of these photo sessions.
There will be two windows for photography: Wednesday September 30 from 8:30am - 11:30pm and Thursday October 1 from 12:30 - 3:30pm. The entrance for picture day will be the side gate on Brighton Ave. In order to take part, you must first sign up for a specific time slot here: https://BlueNote.as.me/OV. The time you select is the beginning of a 15 minute window, during which you may arrive anytime. Please select the quantity of sessions equal to the number of children arriving with you. These time slots are limited to avoid crowding and maintain social distancing guidelines. You are encouraged to bring all Ocean View students in your household at one time. If you are part of a “pod,” you may come come as a unit with a single guardian to help reduce the number of people onsite. Nathan Phillips

On Wednesday, September 2, AUSD food service will return to serving FREE grab and go meals for all children 18 and under on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Albany High School multipurpose room, 603 Key Route Blvd. from 11:30 to 1:30. You do not need a barcode. Social distancing measures are in effect. Face coverings are required. Children do not need to be present to pick up food. On behalf of your Ocean View teachers ...this school year starts a new chapter in education. There is a huge learning curve that students, teachers, and district administrators will be navigating, yet again, together! As we embark on this thing called Remote / Blended learning and instruction, we ask you our parent community to refrain from publicly scrutinizing their children’s teachers/schools/district for the way they are teaching, the lessons they’re assigning, or the decisions the districts are making (Facebook, parent networks or other social media). Please offer grace to your child’s teacher and other school personnel. I promise that educating & keeping your children safe is still our #1 priority. As we begin to navigate uncharted waters with little idea in what to expect we ask for your partnership through this challenge. We love your kids and are doing our absolute best!
