AUSD is seeking applicants to serve on the newly formed Board-Appointed Student Achievement Committee. The purpose of the Student Achievement Committee is to serve as the advisory body for the District’s Local Control and Accountability Plan development process;  review student achievement metrics and recommend strategies to close equity and opportunity gaps; and review social emotional/mental health metrics and recommend strategies to close equity and opportunity gaps. Parents/guardians representing various student groups are encouraged to apply. The original Maddy Act Notice posted has been extended and will remain open until all positions have been filled. The AUSD Board of Education passed a resolution at the Sept. 14 Board meeting affirming September 15- October 15, 2021 as National Latinx Heritage Month. District schools and teachers will commemorate this occasion with appropriate instructional materials and activities.
