The Board of Education and the Community Panel interviewed five excellent candidates in an extensive, in-person process over the weekend for the position of Superintendent of Schools, Albany Unified School District. An outstanding finalist was selected and contract negotiations are proceeding. The contract will be presented to the Board of Education for approval at the November 19, 2024 regularly scheduled meeting with the full document included in the agenda for public view. At that time, the finalist will be introduced to the AUSD community.
The Board thanks the Community Panel for their participation in the interview process and the valuable perspectives they provided on the candidates. We also thank Interim Superintendent Dr. Donald Evans, who will remain in place until the new permanent superintendent is ready to take charge.
