Dear Albany Community,
Another week has flown by, and classes are beginning to feel familiar and not-so-new. Settling in is great, because as students become comfortable with classroom routines, the focus shifts to curriculum. The next few months will be packed with learning.
Wellness Committee
In this year's Wellness Committee, we will be focusing on District Objective 2.3: Provide support for students’ physical, social and emotional needs, including the home-to-school connection. To that end, we will be focusing on cultivating community by creating and providing clear resources to parents/guardians to have meaningful conversations with their children about race. These resources will be structured with a short video followed by guiding discussion questions and some clear talking points. This will allow easy entry points for families with kids of different ages who are wanting to have these conversations but aren't sure where to start.
The Wellness Committee meetings will be held in person (with a Zoom-in option for those who cannot attend in person), in a location to be determined, from 4:15–5:15pm on Tuesdays, October 17, December 5, February 6, and April 16. Labor Day Holiday
Monday is Labor Day, a school holiday with all schools and offices closed. I hope that over the long weekend your family takes time to simply relax. Please also reflect on and honor the working people in our history who have fought for workers' rights and things we now take for granted, such as eight-hour workdays, workplace safety, and minimum wages.

Comité de Bienestar y feriado del Día del Trabajo
Querida comunidad de Albany,
Otra semana ha pasado volando y las clases empiezan a resultar familiares y no tan nuevas. Instalarse es fantástico, porque a medida que los estudiantes se sienten cómodos con las rutinas del aula, la atención se centra en el plan de estudios. Los próximos meses estarán llenos de aprendizaje.
Comité de Bienestar
En el Comité de Bienestar de este año, nos centraremos en el Objetivo del Distrito 2.3: Brindar apoyo para las necesidades físicas, sociales y emocionales de los estudiantes, incluida la conexión entre el hogar y la escuela. Con ese fin, nos centraremos en cultivar la comunidad creando y proporcionando recursos claros a los padres/tutores para que tengan conversaciones significativas con sus hijos sobre la raza. Estos recursos se estructurarán con un vídeo breve seguido de preguntas orientadoras para el debate y algunos puntos de conversación claros. Esto permitirá puntos de entrada fáciles para familias con niños de diferentes edades que quieran tener estas conversaciones pero no estén seguros de por dónde empezar.
Las reuniones del Comité de Bienestar se llevarán a cabo en persona (con opción de Zoom-in para aquellos que no puedan asistir en persona), en un lugar por determinar, de 4:15 a 5:15 p. m. los martes 17 de octubre, 5 de diciembre y 5 de febrero. 6 y 16 de abril. Estamos buscando maestros, personal, padres/tutores y estudiantes para unirse. Día de feriado laboral
El lunes es el Día del Trabajo, un feriado escolar con todas las escuelas y oficinas cerradas. Espero que durante el fin de semana largo su familia se tome un tiempo para simplemente relajarse. 在今年的健康委员会中，我们将重点关注学区目标 2.3：为学生的身体、社交和情感需求提供支持，包括家庭与学校的联系。为此，我们将专注于培养社区，为父母/监护人创造和提供明确的资源，以便与孩子就种族问题进行有意义的对话。这些资源将由一个简短的视频组成，然后是指导性讨论问题和一些清晰的谈话要点。这将为有不同年龄孩子的家庭提供轻松的切入点，他们想要进行这些对话但不确定从哪里开始。
