Despite the SF Bay Area’s rich history of social and economic justice and diverse population, it is not untouched by racism— in particular, anti-blackness in predominantly white “liberal” communities often operates at unconscious levels and impacts parents, teachers, and most importantly, the ways in which children see themselves and treat everyone. In this workshop, Dr. A. Breeze Harper, an Albany parent and national speaker and consultant on systemic racism and white supremacy, will provide an introductory talk and an interactive workshop about engaged and mindful parenting around racism, power, and anti-blackness. We welcome everyone's perspective as we learn together and from each other. RSVP for FREE childcare is needed to make sure we get enough sitters and pizza. Children must be potty trained and ages 4 and up. Please stop by Marin Elementary School's office to sign up for childcare for this Parent Ed event. Or, if you're unable to come by the office, you can also sign up for childcare remotely using this CHILDCARE SIGNUP FORM HERE. Questions? Please email us at [email protected]
