PARENT EDUCATION NIGHT—WED, JANUARY 29TH, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM: The Albany Music Fund is sponsoring a Parent Education event focusing on the multitude of developmental, social and academic benefits to making music in the classroom on Wednesday, January 29th from 7-8:30PM in the 4 Corners Room at the Albany Village. This event is open to Albany parents, children and teachers; however space is limited to 40 participants. To register, RSVP to [email protected] by January 25th. Lead by teaching Artists Sarah Wilner and Nydia Algazzali Gonzalez, the workshop will include:
• Songs for learning and literacy development that can be used in the classroom and at home.
• Tips on how to incorporate movement and music in the classroom.
• Ideas for supporting creativity and expression at school and at home.
• A discussion about the developmental and social benefits of music.
• Lesson plans and lyrics for all participants.
