COMMUNITY EDUCATION EVENT--"THE BULLY, THE BULLIED, THE NOT SO-INNOCENT BY-STANDER AND CREATING CARING COMMUNITIES": Barbara Coloroso, Author & Guest Speaker, Monday, May 22, 2017, Ocean View Multi-Purpose Room Main Event: 6:30 pm to 8:00pm. Pre-event Q&A starts at 6:00pm, Post-event Q&A starts at 8:15pm and ends at 9:00pm.This event is co-sponsored by the Albany Community Action, The Black Parent Engagement Group, Familias Latinas De Albany and the Jewish Parent Engagement Group. The Albany Community Fund has generously provided support for Ms. Coloroso's travel and related expenses. Barbara Coloroso, an internationally recognized educator on bullying and restorative justice, will offer a Community Education presentation: "the Bully, the Bullied, the Not So-Innocent By-Stander and Creating Caring Communities." Barbara Coloroso has supported families and school districts across the nation. She worked in Rwanda on restorative justice practices after the genocide. Ms. Coloroso also worked with Desmond Tutu's daughter and others as part of the Generation 2 Peacemakers Martin Luther King III Project. She has supported many juvenile offenders to take responsibility for their actions and return to their communities as productive citizens. Barbara Coloroso is donating her time and expertise to our community at this time of collective engagement around issues of bullying, racism and restorative justice. This event is for parents, high schoolers and community members. She will be on-site starting at 6:00 pm and after the talk to respond to your questions relating to these topics.
