SLEEP AND LEARNING: WHY SCHOOL START TIMES MATTER--THURSDAY, APRIL 6TH (7:00 - 8:00 PM): Albany High School Little Theater (http://ahs.ausdk12.org/ contact/location). Dr. Bryce Mander, University of California, Dept. of Psychology, Sleep and Neuroimaging Laboratory. Please join us to hear updated research on the connection between adolescent sleep and learning. Most teens chronically sleep 1-2 hours less than their body needs. Because of this, most teens have some form of excessive daytime sleepiness, which impacts performance in school. Know what's coming for your child(ren) before the adolescent shifts begin! Hosted by the AUSD Wellness Committee. Although this talk is at the Albany High School Little Theater, it is NOT a high school event! Sleep is critically intertwined with learning at all ages.
